The Black Men's Initiation Retreats
Few adult males in America have had the fortune to participate in a legitimate rite of passage educational program designed exclusively to meet their needs as developing adolescent males. This annual retreat is held on 2 days at the Aakhet Center with the intention of overtly initializing a deeper spiritual awakening and conscious commitment to embrace the challenges of manhood development in adult Black males through conversation, cultural teaching, storytelling, and ritual engagement. The retreat is conducted by:

The Black Women’s Development Retreats
"A people with no conscious understanding of their origin, history and purpose is dead."
This retreat is a 2 day gathering designed to introduce women of African descent to their rich cultural heritage and expose them to the definitions, roles and responsibilities of black women in the areas of spirituality, identity, motherhood, sexuality and community advancement as taught by our ancestors.
These concepts are introduced, in part, via ancient rituals.
Prescriptions for healthy living are based on the cardinal virtues of MA’AT (truth, justice, righteousness, propriety, harmony, balance, and order).
Upon completion of the retreat, participants should have a sufficient understanding of self and community to ensure the emotional, social, spiritual and physical survival of our families and communities.
